Timeline:

April & May 2019

Objectives: 

To track shortin eels (Anguilla australis) from Australia and longfin eels (Anguilla dieffenbachi) from New Zealand to their spawning grounds, in effort to conclusively identify the spawning site for these eels.

Funding: 

My participation in the project was funded by the Elisabeth og Knud Pedersen Fund.

Results:

16 Australian shortfin eels and 20 New Zealand longfin eels were tagged with pop-up satellite archival tags. Results are currently being analysed.
